I've had the pleasure of interviewing lots of different people. My very first interview was with Diane Rehm, my hero. I had done an interview or two for assignments, but nothing on-air, so it was very new to me. I was just excited that I was going to meet her and get to talk with her for 30 minutes!
She came to campus to promote a reprint of one of her books, so I read through it, did a little bit of research and triple checked my questions. I made a few mistakes, such as saying, "Hmm." and other phrases to let her know I was listening. You just don't do that on-air. But, she loved it regardless. After, she said that I would be the next Diane Rehm to a full auditorium of people and I nearly fell over. I had found something that I really love.
Ever since then, I've been working my tail off to break in to radio and let me tell you, it is a very tough business. But I am bound and determined to make a place for myself.
So here's some of the work that I've done thus far. It's rough, the recorder that we had didn't always start recording when we wanted it to, so some of the beginnings of my recordings are gone forever. But I have pieces.
